4. Installation
========================================================================
Install this patch by downloading and then decompressing the patch files
to a temporary directory (one for the ScanMail files, and one for the
Control Manager agent files).

	4.1 Install SMLN patch program files
	====================================================================
	Note: you will need to Stop your Domino server to install the patch.

	To install the ScanMail patch files:

 	1. On the ScanMail machine, stop the Domino server.
	2. Rename or otherwise back up the ScanMail program files listed in
 	   section 1.3 (under <prog>) in the Domino program directory
	3. Rename or otherwise back up the AU files listed in section 1.3
	   (under <SMLN/AU>) in the ActiveUpdate-directory "SMLN/AU" under
	   Domino data.
	4. Copy the ScanMail program files (<prog>) from the temporary
	   directory to the Domino program directory.
	5. Copy the AU files (<SMLN/AU>) from the temporary directory
	   to the SMLN/AU directory.
	6. Ensure the permissions and owner are set the same as the original
	   files.
	7. If you have Domino v5.0.9 or later, please run dataseg utility
	   with option -s over copied file(s). For more information,
	   please refer to IBM Support Web site document 7002686 under
	   http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27002686
	8. Restart the Domino server.

	4.2 Install CM Agent Patch files
 	======================================================================

	To install Control Manager agent patch files (only applies if you are
	running ScanMail within a Control Manager domain):

	 Notes:
	 o The Domino server must be running to install the agent (it must be
   	   stopped to install ScanMail 2.6).

	 o You will be prompted to log on to the Control Manager server using
   	   a root-level account.

	 o For Domino partitioned servers, install a separate instance of the
   	   agent on each partition.

	 o The "Server.id" for the Domino server where you will install the
	   agent should not have a password.

	To install the Control Manager agent:

	 1. Decompress the archive to a "temp" directory, change to that
 	    directory and type the following command to run the install script:

   		# ./smcminst

     Alternatively, if you want ScanMail to install without prompting for
     any user input, a so-called "silent install", enter the following:

    	# ./smcminst install -s /%path%/settings.dat"

    (Note: "smcminst" must be executable--if not, enter "chmod 555
           smcminst" )

 	2. If you chose not to perform a silent install, the following menu
   	 appears:

     	 1 ..... Install Control Manager agent for ScanMail 2.6
     	 2 ..... Uninstall Control Manager agent for ScanMail 2.6

         Type "1" to begin installing. By default, the agent installs to the
         "/opt/trend" directory, or you can choose another directory when
         prompted.

 	3. Next, identify the location of your "notes.ini" file and press
    	   Enter to continue. Setup previews your selected install
	   directories,checks available disk space, and begins copying files.

 	4. When prompted, log on to the Control Manager server using a
           root-level account to open the connection.

 	5. When prompted,"Once the agent is connected to the Control Manager
	   server, ScanMail will show up in a products list on that machine.
	   Type the name you want ScanMail to appear under in that list."
	   If you have orginially used another name other than the default
	   then please enter this name here otherwise press Enter.

 	6. The Setup program ends sucessfully after a message
	   "Entity's configuration settings are the same! Nothing to do."

5. Post-Installation Configuration
========================================================================
After updating ScanMail with the Service Pack 1 Patch 2 files,

 1. On the ScanMail server, copy the templates "smconf.ntf" and
    "smvlog.ntf" to the Domino data directory .
 2. Sign this templates using the appropriate Notes ID.
 3. Replace the design for the "smconf.nsf" and "smvlog.nsf" with
    the newly signed templates "smconf.ntf" and "smvlog.ntf".
